Standard Terms & Conditions

1. GENERAL

i) A placement fee will be charged to an employer when a candidate introduced by Linear Executive Search Limited is engaged in any capacity, or when an agreement is made with the candidate for services. No charge will be made to the candidate.

ii) The placement fee will be calculated based on the appointee's first year's remuneration, as specified upon confirmation of the candidate's appointment. For self-employment cases, the fee is determined by the estimated fees to be paid to the candidate for services during the first year.

iii) Professional fees are due for payment within 14 days of the invoice date.

iv) Any advertising expenses incurred will be charged at cost when applicable.

v) In the rare event that an appointment is not made, fees are non-refundable, but we will continue with the assignment until the vacancy is filled or concluded. The client may terminate the assignment at any time with written notice, triggering a cancellation charge of £2500.

vi) Introductions are confidential and binding. Disclosing a candidate's details to others makes the original recipient liable for the fee if the candidate is appointed through this means within 12 months. Similarly, if an introduced candidate is employed within 12 months of introduction, a fee will be charged.

2. EXECUTIVE SEARCH (RETAINED) – Fee: 20%

i) A retainer fee of 5% of the anticipated first year's remuneration will be invoiced upon acceptance of the assignment.

ii) A shortlist fee of 5% will be charged when presenting a suitable candidate shortlist for the client's interview.

iii) Retainer fee, shortlist fee, and expenses are chargeable regardless of whether a candidate is engaged.

iv) The placement fee will be 20% of the candidate's first year's remuneration, minus the retainer and shortlist fees, upon the appointee's commencement.

v) The minimum fee for a search assignment is £10,000.

3. CONTINGENT (SUCCESS ONLY I.E. NOT RETAINED)

i) A placement fee of 25% of the candidate's first year's remuneration will be charged upon the appointee's commencement.

4. OTHER

i) Payment of a retainer fee or appointment through our services signifies acceptance of these terms.

ii) If an appointed candidate leaves within 6 months of commencement (12 months for roles above £75k), we will repeat the assignment at no extra cost. The replacement period is halved if payment terms are exceeded.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Linear Executive Search Limited's liability to the client for any loss or damage of any nature and cause shall not exceed the fees paid or payable to it under any circumstances.
